Different Types of Lashes: Classic vs. Hybrid vs. Volume Eyelash Extensions

Updated: Sep 18, 2021

Eyelash extensions have different types, lengths and curls that you can choose from. Depending on your desired result and natural lashes that we can customize a beauty lash set just for you. We use 100% hand-made lash fans, not pre-made fans. We also use the lightest diameters for your natural lashes 0.05mm or 0.03mm. The thicker the diameter of the extensions, the heavier they will be for you natural eyelashes.

Classic Eyelash Extensions

The most natural style of lashes because less extensions being applied onto the natural lashes. These lashes are not fanned therefore, giving a wispy look.

Pros:

  • Great for starters. First time wearer, should choose this as a starting point.

  • Less dramatic

  • Most natural

Cons:

  • Shed faster than others

Hybrid Eyelash Extensions

A mixture of Classic and Volume Lashes in which, we alternate narrow and wide fans mix in a set. Generally, this look will give off a wispy look of Classic Lashes, but still full from the Volume Lashes. Hybrid Lashes can be pretty natural because of the variance in lengths all mix in.

Pros:

  • Wispy and natural but still full

  • Longer lasting than Classic lashes

Cons:

  • Because this style integrates a variance of lengths into each natural lash. When your natural lashes grow out, the extensions will grow with them therefore will create a messy look. If you are not into the messy lashes look with wispiness, we'd recommend going with the volume wide fans.

Volume Eyelash Extensions

Volume lashes can be either natural or bold depending on the numbers of extensions being used to apply onto the natural lashes.

Pros:

  • Can be natural or bold depending on your desire

  • Lasts longer

Cons:

  • Sometimes can give off the one-length look

Natural Volume Lashes

Natural Volume Lashes are great for clients who want more than just Classic lashes but still want them to look somewhat natural. Volume fans will be wider to bridge the gaps but still seeing the gaps in between lashes.

Full Volume Lashes

The Full Volume Lashes look will be more dense, you see less gaps in between the eyelashes. Generally, if you choose this look, it's recommended to stay on the shorter lengths so that it gives an eye shadow effect since they will appear darker.

Mega-Volume Eyelash Extensions

Mega-Volume Lashes look more dense and very dark. A heavy amount of extensions being applied onto your natural lashes. This is definitely not a style that would be for the longevity of your natural lashes. If you're going for this look, we'd recommend staying on the shorter lengths so that when they grow out, they will not be wonky and pointing to different directions.

Pros:

  • Suitable for an event

  • Very dense and dark look

Cons:

  • Not suitable for long term wear. Meaning that if this style is a continuous wear, your natural lashes would be damaged due to the weight of extensions.

Whether you are settling for Classic, Hybrid or Volume Lashes as your first full set, you still can change and have fun with exploring different stylings at your refills. We won't know what we like until we try them. MaiLash Brows team is here for you to complete your desired result.
